Mr. Mohammed Osman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company said, the donation is made to show Allah’s love as Muslims and support institutions such as the prisons by providing some clothing and foodstuffs for the inmates.
He additionally said, the organization is very pleased visiting the inmates,interacting with them and the donations made as well. He then assured the inmates of any support the company can give them when they are out of prison and advised the youth to desist from any act that will lead them back to the prisons when they are out. He further urged the youth outside to live a decent life to avoid more youth being locked up in the prisons.
Reverend Canon Superintendent Emmanuel Paa Akwesi Ansah, the Regional Chaplain of Kumasi Central Prisons, said currently the prison has a population of about 1,300 inmates including 50 females and the rest are males. The Rev. also appealed to Non – Governmental Organizations to do this same kind of donations to prisons across the country. He further added, such gestures gives the inmates hope that there are people out there who cares for them despite their situation.
He expressed gratitude to Karima Foundation and said the items would go a long way to help the inmates in terms of clothing and feeding.
